  • Does anyone have experience with virtual schools?

    Hi, I'm officially going to homeschool my 5 year old boy this year. I had planned to wing it with help, but SC is offering virtual school for the first time so we signed up but with reservations. k12 is the curriculum and although free is good, it's not everything. I'm looking for guildance... pros and cons...experinces...with virtual schools...

  • Summer Field Trip Ideas?

    Just wondering if anyone has ideas for summer field trips. We have curtailed our summer plans due to the rapidly rising cost of travel, but I don't want the summer to go by uncelebrated! Any ideas or suggestions would be welcome!

    Good Morning, Wheatonmomma! We do what we call "school lite" during the summer. Mostly reading, some "fun" math (logic problems, games, etc.), this sumer we will include a little science material. But NO SCHEDULE! If something comes up or we want to plan an event....no problem, we don't let "school lite" interfere!...

    I homeschool my 3 children that ranges from elementary to highschool. When we were deciding on a name we chose to go with where we lived...Dry Branch Rd....and then went with academy because of the wide range of grades we are doing so we have Dry Branch Academy. We think it sounds so official :). Maybe you could start with a significant name...such...
